How to Get Your Best Brows!

June 5, 2018

Hey BE Babes!

When it comes to brows, we consider ourselves experts. For one thing, we do A LOT of brows in a day. For another, we are well versed in all kinds of brows - from full to thin and even none at all! We have a solution here to suit all brow needs!

So, you’re looking to up your brow game - where should you begin?

Lots of people come in with pictures of the brows they’re dreaming of. And that’s great to have an idea of the look you’re trying to go for, but it’s important to remember not all brows grow the same. We all have different facial features and ‘amount’ of brow. So while that girl from instagram may have the shape you’re drooling over, your brows may not allow for it.

What does that mean?

It means we will do our best, but what we typically recommend is to go with the natural shape. This will be the best shape for your face, and will give you the most natural look possible. When it comes to re-shaping, it all depends on how thick your brows are. We will do our absolute best to give you the shape you want!

The next step to your best brows is tinting!

Now, hear me out. When most people hear the word tinting, they think sharpie brows. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. We are able to mix a colour based on your preferences and hair colour to match. And we don’t have to go super bold, especially if this is your first time!

Tinting is great if you have pale brows or hardly there brows. It’s great for full brows and not so full brows. It’s honestly great for everyone!

Now, if you have extremely sparce hair, it’s not going to work miracles. But, it will help to put some colour into the shorter, lighter hairs you have, which will make your brows look fuller.

The next step to your best brows is learning how to properly fill them in.

Take the time to find a pencil in your perfect shade. Whether this means you head to Sephora and get someone to to help colour match, or you just try a few different shades at the drug store, finding the right shade is key.

After you find your perfect shade, learn how to fill in your brows. There are tons of tutorials out there, but the best way to go about it is to follow the shape of your brow. Start from the middle and build the brow from there. Use gentle strokes to mimic a more natural look. And don’t over fill or fill too darkly. When you’re happy with your work, brush through your brow with a spoolie and then set with a clear brow gel.

Want to get your brows in shape semi-permanently? Keep reading…

Microblading is a great option for people who want to cut down the amount of time and effort they spend on their brows. This form of semi-permanent tattooing is very popular right now, and has become one of our most requested services!

It’s done using pigments and a microblade to create a 3d effect on the brows. The blade cuts into the skin, leaving behind the pigment to create hairlike strokes. It’s great for people who have very few brow hairs or patchy, uneven brows. Or for people who are just sick and tired of having to fill their brows everyday!

The initial appointment takes roughly 2 hours and can be done here in salon or at the home studio. You’ll be required to come back for a touch up 4-6 weeks later for any areas that didn’t quite take or to tweak anything that needs tweaking.

After your first touch up, you’re free to come in whenever you feel your brows could use some sprucing up! Typically, you can expect to get about 10 - 18 months out of them before you will need a touch up. Or you can let them fade away if you decide they’re not something you want to maintain.

If this is something you’re seriously considering, we offer free consulations! It’s a great time to come in, chat about your options and get an idea if this is the right path for you! You do have to call/text or email to book these appointments as it is not available online!
